Default vista sp1 or xp sp3

i believe everyone knows about vista vs xp sp2... xp already won.. but that news is very old... because of old/slow hardware and vista's bugs

vista sp1 and xp sp3 are already releasing a few months ago.. (isnt it?)

i searched for latest review.. i found...

Gaming Performance: Windows Vista SP1 vs. XP SP3 - ExtremeTech

http://www.dragonsteelmods.com/index...8528&Itemid=39

both look good and almost same...

EXCEPT

Vista SP1 vs. XP SP2 - Benchmarked | Hardware 2.0 | ZDNet.com

whats going?!

i understand dx10 is neat and advantage over dx9... even newest games...

only i concern is vista and x64 software/ driver... not many softwares/ drivers can run on x64 and vista

what do you think?

I've seen a hundred different articles on XP vs Vista.

Yes Vista has somewhat caught upto XP, but I believe as this point in time the only reason why someone wants Vista is because its new.

I run Windows XP x64.

<< didn't read all of his over 2000 posts... just narrow on his vista/xp problems >.>

but maybe he should give a try vista sp1... i believe sp1 is much improving compare to before.

edit: ah he posts early

well what about games especially dx10... i found some sites to tell how to install dx10 on xp... is it exactly same dx10 on vista...?

I've tried Vista 32/64bit SP1 and its exactly the same nothing different.

I've tried Windows XP 32bit SP2 and SP3 and again found no difference.

I'm not saying its right and I'm not saying its wrong.

I think articles like that are written for people who are trying to squeeze every last little bit out of their OS which really isn't what is meant for Vista.

Normal people will not notice the difference between a 5400rpm drive and a 7200rpm drive because their focus is on just using their computer not timing how long a program is taking to open.

In regards to DX10? Thats a HUGE joke that Microsoft tried to play from the start which somewhat worked as TONS AND TONS of people flocked to Vista and upgraded their machines to play DX10 games and guess what? At this current time there is MAYBE 2 or 3 games that really work well with DX10 and DX10 has been out for over a 1.5 yrs now.

Also take into accordance that companies like nvidia aren't even going to bother making video cards compliant with DX10.1 standards because they feel its a waste of time and money and will make only DX10 and DX11 cards when that is finally released.
