They should work.

Get the NVIDIA drivers.

As of June 23, 2008, the official WHQL 175.19 Vista 64bit, it does support 8800GT.

And if not mistaken, 8800GT for VISTA64 support was added since 169.02 !

Yeah your 8800GT will work fine. No idea where you read that it doesnt...

Wouldn't be surprised if the advisor uses an outdated engine and is not aware of the newer NVIDIA drivers that DO support 8800GT in Vista64 :D

The vista upgrade advisor from Microsoft is crap and you should use it.

If you're getting problems, try removing 2 gb of ram to install everything, then put it back in.Someone solved his problem doing this, not sure if it'll work with you.

WAKE UP Microsoft !!!

GeForce Release 175

The best thing is to go on the hardware manufacturer's website and check there for drivers.

I personally know and can confirm that these work in VISTA64.

Oh dear you got the Vista + nvidia bug.

Didn't you hear? Vista is only ATI compatible, if you want to use nvidia you need to use Linux.

The latest nvidia drivers for 64 bit Vista are the best so far, IMHO, at least as far as the 8 series goes. I have a PC with an 8600 GTS in it and one with an 8800 GTS in it, both running Vista Ultimate 64 bit, and it's been my experience that the 175.19 Nvidia Forceware drivers are the most stable and the fastest, for both cards.
Nvidia was a bit slow coming around to great drivers for Vista and even slower for Vista x64, but they're here now, and they most definitely work great.
