Speed Up Windows Vista

I have found extremetech very insightful for my Vista use and it has kept me from stringing up with an ethernet cable lol
I was one click away from ordering another Xp OS last nite but a good nights sleep helped

Hmm, solid article. It's all the same process for Windows XP, really. One thing I am not sure about is the comment about ReadyBoost though, "Adding a ReadyBoost drive isn't like doubling your system's memory, but the performance benefits are well worth the price of a USB flash device."

Seeing this is an "Extreme" Tech site, you'd imagine he's not talking about people with 512MB of system ram, but he must be. I've been told by a company who makes ReadyBoost "certified" thumb drives, that if you have 2GB of ram, it's absolutely pointless to use ReadyBoost.

I have looked into this a little. I believe you will get a small performance boost, as you will not need to reserve hard disc space for virtual memory. I could be wrong, but then again, I'm still a noob.

More on this subject can be found here.

There aren't too many tweaks out yet for Vista.

That site is the sister site to tweakxp.com.
