My System Specs

Default Converting .tiff to .pdf

Okay so my girlfriend bought a scanner so she can scan some files for school. She wants the files to be in pdf format and have them organized together in the sections they belong. The scanner will only scan them as .tiff . I did some googling and only found a bunch of links I dont really trust. I would prefer that the program be free (even if it is a trial or something) or at the least low cost.

Thanks.

What kind of scanner did she get? Even my old ass Canon 5200F does PDF scanning if I use the Canon Scan Tool (not the best software). If the bundle software really can't scan to PDF then try Foxit as suggested by IRQ. I used it just a PDF file reader and found it better than Adobe.

Scanners usually come with two options.
1) Using the scanner software via Windows
2) Scan directly off the scanner

2 usually will allow PDF scans but has to be configured in the software.

Foxit PDF Converter

I did not have the plugin and for me, Foxit fail to download it, but that could be because I using version 3.0 build 1506, witch might be a bit outdated :) It probably works well in the more recent versions ;)

/me run and look where to obtain this plugin for older Foxit Reader

I use Primo Free whenever I want to convert to PDF. Just print the file to PDF and you are done. Simple, easy, free, and no watermarks.

PDF Converter ? #1 Free PDF Creator ? PrimoPDF

Open Office also allows saving as (or is it converting.... I forget but it's pretty much the same thing) a PDF.

Okay so part 2 of the equation, foxit will only let me save the image files as individual pdf which I have for the most part now completed (takes a while because they all need to be rotated individually and resaved). Now she wants me to take the groups of images that go together and save them as one pdf with multiple pages. I can't find an option to do that on foxit am I missing it or do I need another program for that?

Edit: Just found a video on how to do it in acrobat reader, I will give this a shot and let you know.
