In OE (Outlook Express) do the following:

1. Click on Tools > Accounts.
2. Click on the Mail tab of the Internet Accounts window.
3. Double click on your account.
4. Click on the Advanced tab and check "Leave a copy of message on server"

Now here you can set it to leave a copy for X amount of days which is a good idea so you do not exceed your storage quota on the mail server or you can have it delete the message on the server when you delete the message in OE.

Ok i did what you posted above and then after (to try if it was working) i moved the files in my Outlook Express folder (C:\Documents and Settings\Myusername\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{4B0C8FE6-0F68-411E-93CD-B7B0734643EB}\Microsoft\Outlook Express) then went back into outlook to see if my messages were still there ... they aren't. So now how do i go and get my messages from the server ?

What you are going to want to do is go into the Videotron Web Mail which is basically a portal to their mail server. If your messages are there, go back to OE and press Send/Receive, the message should start downloading again. If you don't see any message in the Videotron Web Mail, then you are pretty much SOL. Sorry.

Wow. Hold on im loosing you there lol

So, i go to that link (Videotron web mail), i log in and see if some messages are there ? then i go back into OE and click on send/receive all and i should start to see my e-mails being downloaded ?

Well, i went on that link you sent me and i can't log in or anything. I enter my user name and pass and it just load and do nothing. Then i go back to my OE and i don't see any messages beeing downloaded. But i ticked the box for send a copy of my messages on server only after i received my last e-mail... So maybe it will only send a copy of the next message i receive.

What you think ?

Did you have Outlook Express set to save a copy of your messages before you reformatted your drive? If not then you are SOL for getting back your messages.

Now that you have OE set to leave a copy of the messages on the server any new messages you get will have a copy left on the mail server.

Ok thanks it's working now. But the message i get from the server does not include the replies i sent... I might try to set-up my videotron.ca mail into Msn if it's possible. Cuzz basically why i wanted to set-it up into OE was because i thought the only way was in OE. I just wanted a e-mail that wasn't any free stuff such as hotmail.com or gmail.com ... But now that i remember can is et that videotron.ca e-mail into Msn ? that would rock!

Sent messages are not stored on the server at all if you send from Outlook Express and sent messages are never downloaded into Outlook Express from the mail server.

Regarding MSN if you are referring to MSN Messenger than yes you can use your Videotron e-mail address by registering it as .net passport address. Just go to www.passport.net and it will tell you how do that. If you are referring to accessing your e-mail though the MSN service that is not possible.

Ok, well, ill tell you what i'd like to do and you'll tell me what i want ok ?

I was wondering if it was possible to have my videotron.ca e-mail through Msn. Means like having that nice hosted thing but with my videotron.ca e-mail ? Into which i could store my e-mails. You know ?

Oh and i don't understand what you said about sent messages above. I have to "download" my sent messages to the server ? Or are you saying that sent messages are never uploaded onto the mail server ?

Sorry... French Canadian here

Thanks!

You can't use MSN to host your videotron e-mail messages.

The sent messages are never updated on the mail server.
