It's not just the start button but the functionality that it brings. I have clients that don't know how to copy files from a USB stick. Could you imagine forcing something like this down their throat (and lots of them don't know anything beside Word and Outlook either, doesn't matter their age) haha. I don't have enough hours in the day to train all my clients on a brand new OS (basically).

This is a big Microsoft fail no matter how many here thinks it's ok. I've heard countless stories from clients who have returned new laptops specifically due to Win8 and that's not going to change unless Microsoft changes things.

Now I don't have Windows 8 and have no plans to change soon. I can understand about the fact you start off at the Start Menu instead of Desktop, that I can get. But a start button? Not really.
I couldn't give two flying figs about a start button. It's the lack of a classic start menu that's the problem.

My problem is that I have many, many programs installed on my machine. Having it on a full screen menu would be just stupid. With windows 7 I just go to start and all programs and can look at the entire list nice and organized and still only taking up a tiny portion of my screen. Way more useful than the windows 8 style. Now as for search, I still find that I end up using more clicks/actions in Win 8 than in win 7. Of course I only really use the search in win 7 for things like cmd, msconfig, regedit, gpedit.msc, etc. And all of those I type into the search box in the start menu and hit enter and I am there, I don't have to search then select settings to get to them as I do with some things in win 8.
