Installing Win7 driver, 'side by side' error
1 Attachment(s)
Trying to install AMD drivers on the following system:

F1A75-M Pro
Win7 pro 64bit

See error message below. I installed Windows on Thursday and installed the rest of the drivers immediately after...chipset, USB, Audio, etc without any problems. I also installed Nvidia drivers, as I was trying (unsuccesfully) to get a GTX295 to play nice as the primary graphics card. I ended up removing the GTX295 and took a break, not touching the rig until today.

Today, I boot up the rig, uninstall the Nvidia drivers, then download 8.863.0.0 drivers from the ASUS website. The install fails, and I get the message shown below.

This isn't the first time I've received this message. This is the 3rd time I've installed Windows on this rig, and everytime I can install some drivers, and then I get to a certain point where the rest of the drivers refuse to install and uninstall because of this error message.

What is causing this, and what is the solution?

Typically that means a Visual C++ Runtime is missing, but it could be other dependencies as well.

You could try running the Visual C++ Installer from this site: http://burf.cesidian.info/ as he's put together a fairly comprehensive collection of all the latest versions within that installer.

Thanks. I reinstalled Windows (again) and so far so good. I have all drivers installed, and quite a few games in there, too. If I run into the problem again, I'll be sure to check out that link. Thanks, JD.
