DirectX 10 or 11?

So I downloaded the Nvidia 306.97 WHQL driver for my GT630M graphics card (Drivers | GeForce) but it seemed to lower my performance in Diablo 3 fps wise from 55.6 avg. to 43.5 avg. according to two 30 min. benchmarks from Fraps. So I re-downloaded and installed the 306.23 WHQL driver and it should be fine.

But according to Nvidia Control Panel my GPU supports DirectX11 yet when I check it appears that I have DirectX 10 installed. I don't know if I had DirectX 11 before I updated the driver, but should I download DirectX 11? What difference does it do having DirectX 10 or 11? Can updating the driver degrade the DirectX-version?

Windows 7 64 bit.

I wouldn't really worry about that to much but if you must know go to the run command and type in DXdiag and it will tell you which version you are running but my guess is that since you are on win 7x64 and the GT630m I should be DX11

Using the DXdiag, it does indeed say DirectX 11 in the system menu. However in the screen menu it says DDI-version: 10.1. What does that mean? And if I go to the Windows Experience Index and press the "print details" button it also says DirectX 10 so I don't really know?

If you have a DX11 card and latest drivers then you are good to go i think. When you play a dx11 game for the first time i think that it checks to make sure that dx is up to date and will prompt u if it isn't. There aren;t that many dx11 titles anyways.

Your computer is using nVidia Optimus isn't it? Yes, it is running nvidia Optimus. It normally runs on the Intel integrated gpu while games switch to the Nvidia dedicated GPU, so it should all be fine. Thankyou. :)
