I treat windows versions like Star Trek movies. One bad one, then one good one. So if Windows 7 is good, then Windows 8 is...... yeah. Ill keep what I have and wait till Windows 9.

That has everything to do with Adobe not with the Linux environment. 64bit Flash is absolutely useless and provides no marginal difference over its 32bit counterpart.

This RP is missing a lot of stuff that they've already changed/implemented in their internal builds though.

Like Aero has been completely removed now and will no longer exist as they find it "tacky". I'm not sure why this sort of stuff didn't make it into the RP. It's giving the public a false representation of the product.

Honestly I couldn't really find any changes from the CP to the RP. It seemed to be the same, though I didn't extensively use either. It sits on my 2nd SSD and I boot to it from time to time.

It is definitely going to be a huge learning curve to use on our "old" desktops. Buying new Windows 8 designed hardware seems to be the only way you'll be able to use it properly. Seems the trend is towards "transformer" type units. I think we've finally reached the end of the desktop PC.

Agreed at least in theory - seeing what's right on the front page of MS's web page...

NSA inspired sign in upon install....

Linux will never be supported by industry properly, too much open-ness and free-ness, that is bad for business.

Looks like we are being pushed into a tablet world, I guess it is time for a touchscreen LCD and feeling the pain of getting used to an OS we don't like whether we like it or not.

Ive spent almost 12 years on Windows XP, used it ever since it came out, and I am just now converting myself to Windows 7 with my new computer build. I'll probably spend another 12 years on 7 too if this is the outlook on Microsoft's OS's.
