Disable Windows Live Messenger 2011 Hardware Acceleration

So I've been forced to install WLM 2011, and I need to disable hardware acceleration for WLM 2011 because of Folding@Home. However such an option doesn't exist! But here's the solution for you!

Not sure what I am more surprised about; that Live Messenger NEEDS hardware acceleration in the first place or the fact that people actually still use it....

And why wouldn't people use it?

No I'm not gonna use Pidgin or Browser based MSN.

Well, you can use a lighter program like Miranda, etc that allows you to group several IM services into one simple program.

I only use WLM. Don't use any other IM programs. Rarely use Skype.

Too each their own preference :)

I myself don't like WLM just for that fact that it is pretty much spying on your practices just like Facebook or Google does. but if people really don't care how much possible information they are giving out to the rest of the Internet communities then I guess it really doesn't matter.
but then this post isn't about privacy lol.
myself either miranda or amsn is fine

I am still on WLM 8.5. (The best version IMO, no BS) Just have to use reshacker to change the version string so it lets you sign in.

I can post how when i get home if anyone's interested, i've got all the files too like the msi to skip the installer of all the crap, and apatch and stuffplug.

I alternated between Miranda and Trillian for years and they always seemed slightly glitchy compared to the official WLM.

Now I just use WLM, as it connects to Facebook as well.

After APatch WLM is still the best IM client IMO.

I remember way back when I used to use windows messenger there was a page the stopped every little ad that the messenger had but then they upgraded the WM to WLM and I stopped using WM
