Let us know how it works SS. I for one subscribe to the theory of every other OS from Microsoft as a safe rule of thumb.

Personally I will skip it.
I'm perfectly happy with Win7

While the Metro interface might be fantastic for the Windows Phone & tablets.

I'm not particularly interested in having a massive widget for "computing"

As for the xbox integration, I believe the MWC coverage & preview today is covering the gaming aspect.
I haven't had time to read/watch the video footage, but perhaps someone else can shed light on the subject.

edit: found a tidbit about Xbox live integration!
Not sure if that's the same as "Xbox integration" that was mentioned previously

Microsoft Windows 8 Consumer Preview detailed impressions -- Engadget

You have to scroll down the page about a quarter of the way.
Hope this helps.

EEEWWWWW. I used ME for about a year when it came out, then reinstalled Win98 until I upgraded to XP.

Sky, as a computer geek, (and probably someone who works on your family's computers) how could you let your parents rock ME for so long?

Really? If they change the way windows works that much... that's bad. I like my windows (yes), and start menu, folders, etc... Not everyone is going to be using a touch screen, hell, a lot of the world still uses XP...

With the dev version of last fall, we just change a key in the registry to put back the menu. They remove the key as it was not good for ........bla bla bla. I don't care with home version, but they better to fix something for the PRO and Enterprise one. Also with multiple monitors, it's dam hard to open the right bar to select setting to shut down the PC, better use alt+F4

I want the start button itself gone on my notebook, not quite as much on my desktop. I am ok with the start button missing.

What I am NOT ok with is all the fullscreen bullshit I now have to endure!
