Audio CD copying software?

I'm sure there's some information here somewhere but I can't seem to find anything relevant to my question. I own three vehicles that have cd players and I have a fairly extensive collection of music CD's. Normally I take some of them from vehicle to vehicle but this is becoming a pain because my vehicles have multi disc CD changers and I'm unloading and reloading all the time. I don't own and won't by an iPod (yet) but I would like to copy my purchased legally CD's so that I can have one in each vehicle. I've tried ripping and copying with Nero but one or two songs on each cd seem to come out garbled on replay??? Is there a reliable CD copy program that will allow me copy my CD's?
Thanks for any suggestions.

I'm partial to CDex. Been around forever and uses the lame codec but hasn't been updated since 2009. It's easy to use and quick so that's always a bonus. Last I checked the best ripper was EAC (Exact Audio Copy) so you can go that route.
