Default RDC over local Wifi vs remote wifi vs 3G

Just a quick question, is RDC ever really bottlenecked by the connection type? local wifi as in what you get in your house, 'remote wifi' would be what you get sitting in a coffee shop, and 3G being 3G in a windowed conference room.

Wifi? No. 3G, the ping would be a bottleneck.

Well any external network would be relying solely on your home connections upload bandwidth which I'm guessing is between 512Kbps to 1Mbps.

Remote Desktop was never designed for external access. I strongly recommend looking at VNC-based solutions instead.

I'd recommend looking into Team Viewer as it is free to use if you are only using it on personal machines (IE not corporate), rather easy to use, and even comes with an android/iPhone app as well.
