Default Preventing windows gpu throttling while watching media?

So I'm sure I'm not the only one who has had this issue but basically when watching youtube videos or tv in WMC windows throttles down the GPU to 500 core and 975 mem. Usually I run games and what not while watching(more listening than watching) TV or having youtube videos playing in the background. Is there any way of preventing windows from throttling the gpu?

Check your GPU's control panel for power settings, and look at the advanced settings for Windows power management (probably multimedia settings).
