Default Email Clients for Windows 7

I have to say I'm disapointed with what I've found so far. I liked Vista's mail client but the windows live mail is rubbish. It keeps "saving my settings" and loosing connections. I dont like Thunderbird for a few reasons, 1 it lacks a calendar. 2 something about the ui, the layout or the font or something I dont care for.

So I what do you hardware canucks use for your email on your pc.

PS. I really hate to say this but phones and tablets are quite a bit ahead in the email client department from what I've seen

Outlook costs a lot of money; $250 for the entire suite or like $350 for just Outlook

outlook express? I use windows live mail because I need to keep track of 5 different email accounts, and it's easier to do that in live mail than in any of the other ones I've run into.
but if you are having troubles with that, then I would say some form of outlook. it's a good program with tons of functionality, less if you get express, but still a good functional program.

Outlook Express does not exist for W7; it was replaced by Windows Mail (not Windows Live Mail - that's different).

Outlook Express was dropped with XP. Windows Live Mail was its replacement then when 7 came out it became Windows Mail

Yeah, but I need the Office suite anyway, so it's not really costing me anything, and work pays for my Mac. (Or I wouldn't be using a Mac)

Would probably be using the Windows Live client, Thunderbird or the Opera mail client if I didn't need MS Office.

Tbird is what I use for years since XP.
