What AntiSpyware Program Do You Use?
Just wondering, what antispyware and malware program do people use here?

Keywork December 11, 2011 02:15 PM

Just MSE. I haven't used anything else in a LONG time.

All though Microsoft Security Essentials is excellent software I still use MallWareBytes and NOD 32 for now

sswilson December 11, 2011 02:40 PM

MSE, but I also install Malwarebytes on PCs for future use if necessary.

enaberif December 11, 2011 02:40 PM

superantispyware and combofix is all you really need.

Jake_HT December 11, 2011 02:46 PM

None. I just don't install viruses

But I recommend MSE to people who try to win free ipads

Anti-Virus =/= Anti-malware.

MSE + Malwarebytes paid version is a very good combo. So too is avira free + malwarebytes paid.

IMHO relying on just one OR the other...is a bad idea.

Avast free + Malwarebytes "paid"

AkG December 11, 2011 03:14 PM

How is avast nowadays...been awhile since I used it as it turned into a turd there for awhile (though still EONS better than what avg turned into)?

Avast is pretty awesome in my opinion. Use it at work, home, toss it on whatever PCs I fix on the side. Doesn't seem to take much in terms of resources. Only things I do is turn off the sounds (good god that's annoying) and turn off the Auto sandbox. One thing I love is the website checking. It's stopped me from going to virus filled sites when I accidentally click an ad or bad link in Google. Updates pretty regularly and I haven't had a problem with viruses since I built my first computer in 2008 and slapped Avast on it.
