harddrive software

I just installed windows on a 60g (55 avail) and after it was done i had like 29 left. Is there software that can show me exactly where my space has gone:dots:

Pagefile, hibernate file, etc. Windows 7 uses quite a bit of hard drive space by itself, you won't be able to shrink your install much smaller than 10gb and it typically uses at least 16gb by default. Given your system specs 8gb was used for hibernate and 8/12 for the pagefile. Search for guides on installing Windows 7 on SSD's, OCZ forums has a good one IIRC.

Use "treesize"

yup windows eats up lots all on its own

i turn off hibernate and set my own pagefile size
8 gb is way too large

they made it so it would match the memory size you have...which seems silly, should be smaller the more memory you have

I like spacemonger to determine what is eating up my space haha.

That being said I've always disabled hibernate, win restore and moved pagefile.sys to my other drive.
