Default File Copy Tip

Need a large group of files copied fast ?
In your Microsoft resource kit there is a command line copy program that is very fast.
Go to your run box, type cmd and try a large file copy using the ROBOCOPY command like the following example:
ROBOCOPY C:\My Movies *.* /E /V /COPY:DATSOU D:\My Movies_Backup /LOG:D:\My movies_Backup\Backuplog.txt

Give it a try if your looking at a huge file backup and dont have the time to wait around for windows.
If you run it a second time it will only copy the files that have changed since the last time you tried it.

Robocopy is great for repetative copies, especially if you make a batch file.

Try TeraCopy. Been using it for years. Its like Windows had a baby with Robocopy. plus its free.

Windows file copy since Windows XP has always been a dog and useless for large amounts of files to be copied.

I personally prefer something like SuperCopier Website

I've been using RichCopy as I found it a bit better than Robocopy. It's made by Microsoft and works great.

Microsoft Richcopy

Create something idiot proof and they will make a better idiot.
