My System Specs

Default will any 32 bit win vista wok to reinstall win 32 oem on old hp slimeline

hi guys, im trying to get my old hp slimline(bought it new) that needs a new hardrive back in service. It came with win 32 bit oem so no cd of course however it still uses the same Mother board so i assume i can reinstall my version of windows that i rightfully paid for by using my key if i get a install disc.
is this correct?

will the fact that it was an hp oem version of windows make any diff when using a regular win 32 cd to reinstall?
i am pretty sure it should all be the same but want to certain before dropping 50 on the hard drive

thanks for your time

in theory yes. ive seen it not go thru sometimes, at which point you contact hp for some white discs :) free or they charge you if theyre not nice.

id try windows 7 though in there, even as an upgrade worst case scenario :)
