Default Windows 7 Freezing: How do I check whats happening in Event Viewer

I want to figure out what is making my PC freeze all of the time. How do I do it? I opened event viewer and it only shows that I had cut power to the system because it froze. Where do I go to check what made it freeze exactly?

Hi,
The event viewer in Win 7 is quite powerfull, try opening Event Viewer, Windows logs, Application and System. These are the two common ones from the XP operating system. You may find yourself lost in a long history of events, if that is the case, clear the event files, reboot your machine and then have a look.
For the forum to really help you, please post your system specs and what you are specifically doing with your machine when it freezes. This will help in determining if it is hardware or software related.

for a while, i had 2 programs that would not work together and the windows logs never told me where the problem was.
the only thing it did was to say "windows has crashed unexpectedly at xxx hour".
i will try "WhoCrashed" and see how it does. :-)

cpanel > admin tools > event viewer > system

blue screen viewer is a good tool for looking at multiple bsods
google is ur friend on this one as a pc can generate millions of different errors.

if its just "freezing 100%" thats usually ram/cpu/gpu being oced too far depending on what type of hardware you have. ensure stock settings are being used and work off that 1 by one. if nothing is oced heat may be a issue and should be checked with aida64 or some form of monitoring.
