My System Specs

Default Best Network Inventory Software

Ok, so I am looking for a piece of software that can poll machines on our domain and give back system information. You know cpu, ram, hard drives, etc.

I am currently testing one called Network Asset Tracker and so far it works pretty good. It gives me the option to scan single machines up to full ranges of IP's. It also puts out nice reports that are easy to read.

Does anyone else have any experience with software like that? Any opinions are welcome.

Oh yea, it has to be agent-free, meaning no install on the clients.

Microsoft System Center (Microsoft System Center IT Infrastructure Server Management Solutions) would probably be the most ideal, however not sure if they all need a client or not. I've only had experience with System Center Configuration Manager 2007 which does need client software, though it's a rather powerful tool and handles a lot of functions (updates, software deployment, remote control, inventory, etc)

Network Inventory with JDisc Discovery might also be an option.
