Windows 7 Premium x64 - Click-hold open?

I recieved a free copy of Win7 premium through my college. I used a USB to do a clean install on my system. Everything works fine however sometimes when I click on a file, it automatically opens. I was able to figure out that clicking and holding will do the same.

Now is this some sort of feature that I'm unaware of?

i5-2500K @ 4.5Ghz(Would an unstable OC cause this issue?)

I am not clear on what you are asking, if a file is automatically opening something when you actually want to use something different to open the file I usually just rightclick and go to properties click on the general tab and on most files ,inside the general tab there is a "opens with" and change I select change and then use what ever.
now if that is not what you are saying and you are saying that just clicking on a file it automatically opens then maybe the mouse settings are not set to double click to open file, they may be set to single click to open file.

Well, if it only happen sometimes, then you should test that with another mouse. Maybe it's a material problem, that affect the releasing mechanism that cause a double clic. A friend of mine had that problem once, and switching of mouse solved it. But I don't know any feature of Seven causing that.

i just had to replace a mouse for the same thing. sounds like your mouse has lost its debounce.
are you having problems drag and dropping files as well
