Default IE9 release

Anyone using IE9? They claim it's better/faster than FF or Chrome now. I'm skeptical of anything IE related but still intrigued.

I've been using the Beta version for quite some time now and to be honest, it's pretty sweet. It is NOTHING like previous versions of IE. I haven't tried the RC that was released yesterday but I will upgrade to it once I get a chance this weekend. It's actually a great browser now. Recently, i've been using Chrome less and less and IE9 and Firefox 4 more and more. Give it a try!

Been using IE9 since yesterday, and it's ok. It does seem faster than its earlier versions but as anything, it's not fully backwards compatible with some of the online apps I'm using for work. The tabs can now be on a seperate line, as opposed to being located right next to the address bar(which is the main reason I uninstalled the beta version) and that's a great fix.

The address bar itself seems to have strange behaviors. It's kinda dummy-proof, but a pain in the arse when you happen to know what you want to do. Sometimes I'll be typing a url, then press enter, and IE9 automatically appends stuff to my url and it's pissing me off!

Overall, it's ok. It's just another browser I'll have to get used to.

FF and Crome are not supported by the Apps I'm using at work, so I can't make the comparison with other browsers.

7 was horrible. 8 left a really bad taste in my mouth and now 9? Ugh.

I have been using the beta for a while now, not as my main browser FF plugins FTW, and it is leaps and bounds better than previous versions. I doubt it will ever make my main browser but for those sites I need IE (stupid Ministry of Mines site ) it will do.

I hate the way it saves files. I hate it, I hate it, I hate it!
Press "Save" and the download goes into your "Download" folder.
Press "Save As" and then you get to pick where you want to save it.

I hate that!

Microsoft just never seems to "get it". "It works but ..." always seems to be their motto.
