Default Replacing Motherboard/Format?

Hello

My Asus M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 bit the dust and I had to replace it.
I purchased the Asus Crosshair IV Formula board, swapped the boards and setup the bios settings for my hardware. The system booted up fine. I uninstalled the M4A chipset drivers from the old board and replaced them with the Crosshair drivers and all seems fine. Do I need to re-format when doing a swap like this? Running Win 7 x64.
I noticed that my board is using a 1203 BIOS that is not posted on the support site. Only 1102 and 1304. Can anyone explain this? Is this just a factory revision BIOS?

Well , I think that it is good practice to reformat\install everything but myself I am lazy so I don't unless there seems to be problems then I backup everything and format

For "peace of mind" I normally do a fresh install when swapping mobo's unless the chipsets of both boards are the same... This way if problems do crop up I know it wasn't the swap that is causing them... With that said, if everything seems to be running fine why bother...

Shouldn't be necessary...if troubles arise then might be something to think about

nah, I certainly wouldn't.

.... maybe with Win98 I would have. WinXP would just crash, which is fixable with a repair install. Done it hundreds of times with 100% success rate.

It's even easier with Windows Vista and yet again with Windows 7.

Windows 7 almost acts hardware agnostic at times. It seems to know the device is different, removes the drivers that don't work and uses ones that do...
