Default Microsoft Security Essential v2

For the MSE fans here, V2 is now available. If it's not being automatically offered -- as was the case with my installs -- you can get it here:

Download details: Microsoft Security Essentials

New features include: firewall and IE integration, packet filtering for known exploit code, new heuristic engine, improved cleaner and behavior blocking. Been running it for a couple of days without problem.

How is the footprint? Bigger or smaller than the current MSE?

This is from a Eee set-top with 1GB running XP. Right after boot (top) and near the end of a quick scan (bottom). As with many AVs nowadays it will use more memory in systems that have more free mem available.

I just downloaded and installed the new version manually for my main rig (Windows update does not download it for me).
I don't notice much of a difference aside from the background colour, but I guess a little change change is better than turning the program inside out and introducing a pile of problems.
