Whats better for a HTPC

What software would you say is better for a HTPC?

XBMC or Media Browser media browser

I can't really think of what one I want to pick, alot of my HD movies are with DTS for audio with DXVA and some have AC3 audio so I don't really know what one has a better player and what not. Can you guys list some pro's and cons about the two? Thanks.

I run MediaPortal myself with the StreamedMP skin/plugin. Works great and no major complaints with it.

I'd say its just best to try them all and see what you like.

I'm not sure if XBMC has changed since I last used it, but with MediaPortal you can control which codecs you want to use. When I used XBMC, it lacked that feature. I like having full control over all the settings.

I read lowfat's post about XBMC being able to use MPC which should allow it to play anything if need be, I will check out media portal as well. Does it download movie covers and information as well as tv shows and such as that is a major thing for me.

Well if you install StreamedMP it includes MovingPictures and TV Series plugins which do exactly that.
