Default win7 shutsdown itself?

i'm having strange issue with my computer in living room, I use it for watching downloaded stuff only
it's not like it's crushing due to overheating or something
win7 actually shuts its self down as if I went to start and clicked on shutdown
I would be watching something, then suddenly, player(i use gom player) closes and windows shuts down

look at automatic update and all your software update. Also try to put the win 7 dvd and make a repair, maybe you have a corrupted file somewhere.

Edit : mistake fixed --- loop = look ---

Check your power settings and make sure the computer isn't set to shut down or go into sleep mode after a certain period of inactivity. Windows considers watching videos and that sort of thing as inactivity as long as you don't move the mouse or touch the keyboard, so that could be the culprit here.

Never saw a windows get into sleep while wathcinga movie? Are you sure about this one because I am not. But well, if it is it can be a pretty good explaination of what is going on.

It is not supposed to go to sleep while playing video. Now right after the video ends then yes but not during. I believe you can set it to, but default should be not to sleep during videos.

I never have sleep enabled on the PC, but I have seen the monitor turn itself off while a movie was playing on a web based viewer (as opposed to watching it in a media player of some form).

Could be automatic updates or power settings, as previous posters said. I'm not sure if it'll automatically shut down, but it could be going into sleep mode?

Also, this happened to Tasteless at the Semifinals on Gom, his computer restarted because of automatic updates. Good thing they quickly changed the stream to another computer, or thousands of people would be pissed.
