Default Number of Technet keys reduced

Just a head's up.

MS has reduced the number of Technet keys available. Technet Professional are now limited to 5 keys of most products, and the Standard version 2 keys.

I tried to claim a key last week and noticed I had claimed over my allotment, and found reports of a bug. But sites such as Hardocp and Register are reporting that this is a new policy.

This isnt really suprising. MS must have been aware that people were subscribing to this with little/no intended 'correct' use of Technet. Still it sucks comparatively, but even afterwords $350 for 5 copies of win7 is the best deal out there

Noticed this also. Pretty cheesy that they can change the number of available keys midway through the subscription? WTF is up with that...

Oh well. I haven't used more than 4 of anything yet and my subs done next month.

Blame the bloody eBay "keys only" sellers that are selling keys for $10. But I find it weird that MS is going off such a niche market....now some people might end up resorting back to piracy.

Keep in mind that you've still got the Euro "N" versions available which doubles your pleasure.

I agree though that it's kinda cheezy (although I'm sure the legaleeze covers it) to arbitrarily change this on current subs rather than just on new ones. It's still a good deal, however somebody has suggested to me that it's best to let your sub expire and start a whole new one as the keys don't reset when you renew.
