Default How to catch a theif?

Ok guys. I am having a bit of an issue with a roommate of mine. It seems someone has been raiding my sons swear jar and my piggy bank. and i need to catch them. I have the ability to put computer's where I need them and the HDD space to spare.

Is there a free webcam monitoring software I can use to monitor movement in a room? or few?

thanks for the help. Oh, and it needs to work across windows XP to Win7

I posted a thread about something like this before, I'll see if I can find it again. I think the program I used could either do constant recording or start recording on motion sensing (which was pretty buggy).

*EDIT*
Here it is.
Using a web cam for surveillance?

I searched on google... diddn't see this. My google-Fu isn't that good. so will these work with a web cam on a netbook and laptop? what about saving to a remote computer? I have 2Tb of storage in my garage over a network, would be cool to do a wake on lan and have it save to the HDD whenever the certain someone is caught.

Woah, that's low. Raiding a little boy's swear jar and piggy bank... If you are the landlord, just kick him out.

He needs proof before kicking him out, or he can get his ass handed to him in the courts.
