Default messenger live failed to respond

i really dont understand what the real problem is...

when you open msn live on windows 7 x64 and it didn't open right now... just display the message as not reponding then ask to close without any errors...

i tried to clean spyware, virus, registers and temp folders... i also tried to uninstall then reinstall it... i did search the problem on the net and it didnt give the right result (too vary and mostly for xp and vista)

as i know that my mom told me that its stopped working a last week... so any suggestion?

btw i also can try old version but i prefer current one because my mom is not good at computer...

I have the exact same problem on both my desktop and laptop. Although it went away on my desktop, it was a fresh install of W7. I'm using messenger 7.5 and win 2000 compatibility for now as I spent nearly 3 hours trying to fix it. Are you getting an error pertaining to wldcore.dll?

yes, according to event viewer... its displaying something relate to wldcore.dll...

edit: okay... thank to your clue...

i found the simple solution is manually delete folder of HKCU\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger\PerPassportSe ttings\ [http://msgroups.net/microsoft.public...es-on-startup]

its really strange... and i should check event viewer early>_>;

Must be a broken DLL in an update that MS did. If you absolutely need something that supports msn protocol right away, I suggest you simply stop using MS crappy client and get something like Pidgin. Pidgin, the universal chat client

..or wait for a windows update to fix it if that's really the problem.

pidgin is what i always use... but my mom is not good at computer stuff... so msn is much easy and simple for her to use...

i doubt its the problem with dll... it has to do something with personal settings... that corrupt the msn...

btw you know that i already solved it... right?
