Default Preferred CD and DVD burning software?

Right now I am sitting at using Windows Media Player for CD burning (320kbps MP3 files most of the time), and have nothing for burning DVDs (Mostly AVI files, been recently trying out .MKV files as well).
Any suggestions, free or paid, would be greatly appreciated. Multithreaded would also be a plus seeing as I have a core i7.

Bah, I forgot to say I'm not touching any version of Nero with a ten foot pole.

Does ImgBurn make an audio CD readable by a CD player or just straight MP3 data? Because I can only see straight data. If it does though I'd be glad to use that since I have it already.

InfraRecoder is decent. BurnAware is also pretty good.

As for the DVD burning, are you wanting to convert the AVI's into a standard DVD? If so, VSO ConvertXtoDVD is awesome for it.

Nero 6 is the only one I know of that's actually good. Shame it doesn't work too well with Windows 7.

I use imageburn for burning everything. I make audio cds all the time with it, and I've never had a problem reading the audio cd. It will convert the mp3's automatically into an audio cd.

I used to use nero, but once I heard about imageburn and use it, its all I use now! And its free :)

ImageBurn is pretty simple, I've always been skeptical of freeware but there are gems like ImgBurn that make me smile and donate a few bucks.
