Default Win7 or Motherboard?

So I'm either getting Windows 7 Pro or a Gigabyte GA-EP45. I have an ancient motherboard running stuff that it doesn't support (but somehow I manage it). I also got XP with SP3. It's specifically an Asus P5GC-MX. That board is quite old. Max memory speed:667mHz, PCIe x16 1.0, my CPU is 1333 but has to be slowed down to 800, no overclocking, and that kind of crap. So help me out here, what is a more worthwhile investment, mobo or OS? Whats worth more for 100 bucks?

You can always use 7 RC for a wild , or if you can borrow the 7 from someone , just don't enter the key. you good for a month, the time to get one for you . you can even extend the 1 month to 3 . but please change me this avatar......

I'd take a new mb, if its making your computer run slower then windows 7 won't help. You can always use the rc for a few months or even stick with xp for now. and +1 on remove pic

+1 MB, use the RC and save up for a technet subscription.

Go for the mobo over the OS, do what others have suggested with Win 7. Get the RC and you have until march of 2010 to find a full version
