Default Cannot Install MSN Messenger

I need some help please. Now since microsoft has forced the mandatory upgrade, I cannot use my old ver, so I try installing the newer one.. I tried almost 20 times, no firewall, no antivirus software, windows firewall is even off.. No idea why it's doing it to me..

And it keeps directing me to this page Windows Live Help

Anyone help please..

Follow and use this guide to enable you to sign in using older versions of windows live messegner. Don't even bother with the new one, it's trash... 8.5 is the best release.

For version in reshacker, use: 14.0.8089.726 as it is the latest.

Download and Use Older Version of Windows Live Messenger or MSN Messenger Raymond.CC Blog

Did you try running services.msc, starting Windows Error Reporting Service, and trying to install after that?

EDIT: If that doesn't work I read that running msnmsgr.exe (in C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger) in Windows 2003 SP1 compatibility mode stops it from forcing the upgrade.

Actually I solved it.. after searching on google for almost an hour.. First I tried a full uninstall and even downloaded a live tool cleaner that deletes all reg keys and extra files, tried re-installing it again, same problem..

So finally came to a site that has a very very simple solution, people who wanna keep using the old version, if you're using XP just open up the actual windows live messenger folder in program files in your root directory.. look for the msnmsgr.exe right click, compatibility tab, check the box for Run this program in compatibility for: Select Windows 2000. It works like charms..
