need some help here...

so i installed windows 7, but for some reason, i can only see the 30gb partition where the OS is installed on.

i went to disk management, and i can see the other 440gb just fine, but i cannot assign a drive letter, or format it, neither can i click on the properties tab. If i try to click any one of those i get the following message.

The operation failed to compete because the disk management console view is not up to date. Refresh the view by using the refresh task, if the problem persists close the disk management console, then restart disk management or restart the computer.

i am about to restart the computer to see if that fixes it, but if it doesn't could someone please post something that may help or tell me whats wrong?

#1 update

ok, so after restarting my computer, i got the message bootmgr is missing, press cntrl alt delete to restart.

restarted, got the message again.

booted from cd, tried to do start up repair, didnt work.

in serious need of some help here

#2 update

so i tried to do a reinstall by booting from the cd, as some forums suggested.

but now i am get a error code 0xc0000005 message when i click the final "next" for installation.

is my hard drive gone or something? come on guys, lets have some of that canadian brainwork!

god i feel like puking.

#3 update

so i tried reformating, it formatted the partition for the OS to be installed, but it still will not go through with the installation.

the message i am getting is

windows installation encountered an unexpected error. verify that the installation sources are accessible, and restart the installation.

Error code : 0xC0000005

i seem to have made an error, i originally said the error code was 0x0000005, i left out the c, after checking it out, it seems that it is a registry problem?

so i picked up my oem vista 64 bit, and im going to reinstall it, if that doesnt work, i suppose i am ******?

#4 update

currently installing windows vista again, everything good so far.

#5 update

vista installed, now doing the windows 7 install again, but not booting from the disk, fixed my original partition errors from last year when i redid vista just now!

hope it works

#6 update

windows 7 now working
Now restarting to confirm all is well.
