Hard Drive Spin-Up with Win7

I switched to Windows 7 a couple weeks ago and so far I am loving it but one of my hard drives has begun to spin up when accessing it for reads. It is my storage drive so it doesn't bother me much, only when it happens when watching movies or tv shows.
I will get roughly anywhere from 20-30 minutes into a show when the hard drive takes about 5 seconds to spin up and then load the file. It does this with anything I watch from that hard drive so I was thinking that maybe there is an option in 7 somewhere that is making that drive power down after some time.
In the power options there is nothing set like that, it is on High Performance right now. Is there perhaps another option that I am missing for this or is my drive dying(never had one outright croak on me yet)?
