And iTunes as of 9.0.1 it still a 32-bit application.

rule of thumb from what i have seen if it runs on vista 64 it runs an 7 64 just fine ( i will not be going windows 7 just yet when it still needs all the tweaks that vista 64 does )

There are less viruses for 64bit OS, as it is slightly more secure than 32bit OS and less popular than 32bit.

Well one thing about the new iTunes is that it actually takes advantage of the new Win7 taskbar. Albeit useless stuff, it still is the only non-MS application I've seen that has so.

Again I'll say it.

There is almost no reason to need a 64bit OS for the general CONSUMER

Yep that about sums it up...if you were to ask my wife or kids what they think of 32 Bit or 64 Bit...they'd look at you like you had worms crawling out of your ears....."More geek stuff eh Dad"?

the B.S. meter is going haywire on this thread. wow

Just use the x64 os. please... the sooner everyone is on 64 bit and it's the "mainstream" we can stop having this debate. And argue more important points... like gigabit jumbo frame sizes ;)

BS Meter?

Try again.

I love people who make statements like that without backing it up.
