Question Infrared settings for image?

I looking to way how to create this effect in image:

YouTube - MoonFaker: Fall Off & Fill Lights. PART 1

Looks like that can be managed using Sony Vegas "Infrared setting" that you can apply to the source visual footage:

Now I did not care much about video, but for other purposes that showing the world the obvious, I would like to duplicate this effect in Photoshop. It would only color the differences between lighting on other photos as well, revealing some details that might not be so obvious as the fall off effect of studio light on this picture: http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/gallery/...11_40_5903.jpg

One do not need special functions to see THAT one, lol...

Anyone can help with the "infrared settings"?

Default

I haven't tried this for many years, but you could try "solarization" or "posterization" in combination with some other filters; there are endless possibilities.

Interesting, thanks. I found a different way anyway. GRADIENT MAP. That let you adjust and made own gradient the way you see fit:

Piece of cake. Now for more interesting images, these Apollo fakes are so boooring

Default Trodas....Check this out!

I found a filter in Photoshop that seems to do exactly what you need;
See if you have it in your version of Ps.

It's in: Image/adjustments/gradient map

Quote:"The gradient map adjustment replaces the tonal values of the image with the colors supplied by a gradient. It's a great tool for generating special color effects."
- From: Photoshop CS4 on Demand - Steve Johnson.

A highly recommended book, aussi en Franšais.

Ooops, just saw that you already found out and tried the filter.
