Ordering Adobe Software
So I'm a secondary school student and I've been trying to find a site to get a student discount on the Production Premium CS4 package. I found this site:
Software 4 Students Canada - Educational discounts on Adobe products.
Does this site look legit to you guys? It's a pretty big discount.
That is a good discount. Shows at $600 US on Adobe's education store where I have purchased some software.
Do you have a good relationship with your school's network admin/teacher/librarian? Often times school boards will have deals in place to purchase software on the Board discount. We get Adobe Acrobat Pro for about $100 CDN with our deal for staff and students on school computers.
I'll take a look where we usually get software and see if I can find a better price. I have never heard of the company you mentioned.
It seems legit enough as there really is an Adobe k-12 Student Licensing Program. I was not able to find this reseller on the Adobe site but that doesn't mean they are not legit. What you can do to be sure though is contact Adobe and find authorized K-12 resellers.
Adobe - Education: K-12 Student Licensing Program
Looks like there is a school board using this seller in Alberta, mentioning the same discount you mention:
As is this BC school board: Roberts Creek Community Elementary School
Looks legit to me, but if you can verify with Adobe as Thunderball said then that would be best. (but I think its OK).
Looking through the Ontario education software list, looks like CS4 Standard edition is free for Ontario schools. Will have to give this a look this upcoming Fall.
Good to see you are getting this software the proper way BTW!
Sorry to revive this thread but a few days ago I received my CS4 Production Premium from software4students.ca. It arrived a week after I ordered it and it's great. Everything's running really nicely on my i7 rig and the 64-bit photoshop is awesome. Personally I'm liking CS4 a lot more than CS2.
Glad to hear it! Enjoy
