Sounds like this is for Netbooks and smaller appliances. Maybe it will be a fad for the cool people of the world.

It's for netbooks at first, but make no mistake it will eventually be aimed directly at Microsoft.

What makes this any better/different from Moblin ? (Intel's Linux OS aimed at netbooks). Or just plain Ubuntu, for that matter? I can do everything on my Ubuntu HTPC that I do on my Windows box except game, and that's only because I don't want to duplicate the expensive hardware in my gamer.

^^ Agreed. Unless I can buy a game off the shelf (old or new) that works on Chrome, I really don't give a hoot. And netbooks are overrated underpowered products benefiting from a recesion. When things get back to "normal" I think we'll see a significant decline in netbook sales.

This is what I've been thinking all along. Couldn't have said it better myself. At the moment...nothing can replace an up-to-date hardware loaded computer for gaming, applications (3d and animations) and graphic design. These gadgets that have been coming out the last year or so are strictly aimed at the younger generations as toys and boy, these young kids love toys..don't they

It's basically another linux distro. So what makes this one different from all the others out there?

We have no idea what makes it better :P

But if any company has the ability to bring another OS to the table it's Google.
