Default registry disabled by admin
For some reason my registry editing keeps getting disabled. I try to insall programs and it keeps telling me this.

I tried changing the local group olicy, and it works for about 5minutes, and then it goes back, i deleted teh registry and it does it again. i just reformatted, what causes this?

i hope you didnt torrent that OS you are using.

a good tip for fresh installs is to keep your virgin machine off of any network until it has the latest service pack applied (via CD or USB key). Worms can target a clean install of a windows os in seconds.

How is that even relevent?

Anyway, i found that the virus was comming from my email.

Something called peed generic eml, problem is it stops me from registering bitdefender since i cant log into teh website, so now i have to figure out how to remove it without a third format.

I deleted all my emails so i shouldnt get it again if i have to do another format.

Did you manage to get it uninstalled? If not, you can try trend micro's housecall. It's an on-line scan that doesn't require installation.
