3) I get a DirectX11 graphics card and some game or app that uses it
4) Something I NEED only runs on Windows 7

I just can't jump into a new Windows, after being a victim of the "Express" upgrade to Vista, and watching my Windows 7 RC's boot loader self-destruct after installing updates. (FYI I am making this post from my Windows 7 RC test machine, after having repaired the bootloader with a combination of FDISK and the install disc)

Anyway as a student I can get Win7 either for free or discounted, provided this deal stands: Microsoft Office for Students - The Ultimate Steal
I'm in the same vote, Vista is treating me just fine as of now, and until the need becomes greater than the want, I will keep Windows 7 at arms reach.

Doesn't really matter, unless MS patched up the loophole where you can install Vista as a lower edition and upgrade it to yours, making your key legit.

I'm more of a fun when i do nuke and pave of just installing one OS rather then having to have to install one OS, then upgrade to another. Mind you i could always make a back up image of my system when its first set up, but i always forget to

How does this all work if RC7 is already on your machine? Are basically then buying the licence? I clicked the button to buy on The Source"s site but didn"t see any options specifying whether you need 32 or 64 bit.
