Vista hasn't changed its exactly the same, the only way its going to change is when SP1 is out and a lot of the bugs are fixed but at the same time open a whole new can of bugs just like what happened with XP SP1

DirectX 10 is out and been out since Vista was released. But again this was a marketing ploy to get people to buy vista and upgrade their computers for no reason because DirectX 10 has no support, no games, and won't for another fews month and then we'll finally see if the hype was worth it oh and they announce DirectX 10.1 before any games are to be out... go figure .. you obviously...

a: aren't using Vista or had the BETA

b: one of those weird anti MS people

Vista today is not the vista of release. Like I said video drivers have greatly improved, just stick to your non gaming Linux distro.

I don't use linux but might in the future. I use Vista on a daily basis as its part of my job yes I started with a RTM release but its the same thing as Retail. The only thing about Vista that is improving that I'll agree on is driver support.

Thats what he is talking about. Especially 64 bit. When Windows XP x64 came out there was virtually no good drivers. Over a matter of months it became a usable operating system.

Vista did not go through so drastic a change but it was a change none-the-less. Some things are only working NOW, some months after it's release (Creative, I'm looking at you).

I wish Vista was only 64bit that way companies would only have to worry about 64bit.

You would have to have every programmer and software develop solely for 64bit which is not cost or time feasible right now. 32bit will always be a leader until things start taking full advantage of 4gb+ of memory.

Besides....vista 64 can run 32bit apps in it. I'm doing it right now.

Yup but its 32bit mode not 64bit so you don't take advantage of the 4gb and still only entitled to 2gb.
