Similar thread here: Color Calibration

Though TVs are much harder to do properly. You basically have to hire somebody in with all the equipment to do it. It's apparently well worth the money though.

You can do the cheap DIY way and just adjust settings by eye or get one of those calibration DVDs (THX-certified DVDs apparently have one on them), but you need some glasses from THX to do one of the tests. They're like those 3D glasses and fairly cheap.

Forgot to mention, Google your TV model and see if anybody has posted settings for it. Can try here to start: Tweak My TV to get the most accurate calibration settings for my HDTV, only at TweakTV.com*-*TweakTV

I just do it by what I like though, it's not like a TV has to be 100% accurate since you aren't doing graphic editing on it. Should just make it how you like.

I used the THX calibrator avaiulable on the Star Wars DVDs on my TV. Of course it's all by eye and hardly scientific, but it's better than nothing.

Thanks for all of your input, I guess I'll try my "old" eyes and see how it works out for me.

Doh! Thanks Thund3rball, I didn't know that the Starwars discs had that feature. I tried it and it made a difference.
