Default 1GB RAM 64Bit W7 RC

Is it ok to run 64bit windows 7 with 1 gb of ram? I want to install it on my crappo laptop to try it out and I downloaded the 64bit version out of habit. It says under requirments 2gb ram 64bit 1gb ram 32bit? I doubt it would cause an issue?

Well it will be slow at all, will be about the same speed of vista with all the futil option that we never needed desactivated. Os will get about 650 to 800MB for itself so you will be abble to go on the internet and something like that...will look like a netbook well:P but if you don't need anymore it will be a realy good choice.

I'd say 32bit would run far better. I have it running on a X2 4400+, HD3450, 2x512MB DDR-400 and it's usable. Probably will lag if running a lot of stuff but its just my mom's PC so no big deal.

Windows 7 is awesome! It uses 41%(850Mb) of 2Gb on a fresh 64-bit install running just a few apps.... (IE8(175Mb), AV, EVGA Precision etc.)
