My System Specs

Default Office 2010

Shares the similar ribbon setup as Win7 Paint/WordPad, and has "proper" transparency along the top title bar. Suits Windows 7 perfectly IMO.

Some screenshots here (though running in Vista): Leaked: Office 2010 Technical Preview screenshots - Ars Technica

And one of mine (in Windows 7):

I found a leaked 32bit copy, no luck with 64bit yet though...

Pretty much.

I still use Office 2003 as I like it the best.

I prefer office XP still

But really, I like the 2007 view more than that one... transparency kinda bugs me a bit. It's cool in vista, but only because it's not too overdone, like in that picture.

I love Office 2007. It's been so awesome for reports and projects. It's much more intuitive than 2003. Everything is sitting right in front of you. You could say it's a more dumbed down version than 2003, but I think it's a smarter layout than the others. I can complete a report much faster with all the formatting.

Sigh...I was hoping they would put in a "classic mode" but it looks like NIH syndrome is in full effect. Hate having to pay for something from a 3rd party what should come with the product for free. That being said I only use Excel 2007, where the ribbon kinda sorta makes sense. The rest is ass. Word 2003 is good enough for me (especially since its the last to include Blue background w/ white text option). Oh well at least its cheaper to just buy one part than the full orifice suite. ;)

All you old guys stuck in your ways

I think the improvements are for the better. And well if you don't like Office, use OpenOffice. Since MS is now supporting the OpenDocument format, things should pickup for OpenOffice IMO.

i've been using office 2007 since it's release. It was a painful conversion at first (features moved around causing a small dip in productivity because i had to RE-FIND everything). But in the end it grew on me and i find it more difficult to migrate back to 2003/XP than forward. Mostly due to the new "ribbon" interface. Simply put, the ribbon interface makes features in word/excel that I rarely use easier to find. But that's just me.
