Default HTPC freeware suggestions

I'm in the final stages of completing my WinXP SP3-based HTPC, and I was just wondering what some various freeware programs you'd suggest I stick on it.

It's an E4600 with 3GB of DDR2 RAM, so it can take quite a fair bit of resource punishment.

Definitely MediaPortal with the StreamedMP skin.

Dending how you get your movies onto the HTPC, Moving Pictures is great if the movies are ripped to the HDD/Network drive. Gives you some nice cover/fan art and movie description.

And if you download TV shows, grab TVSeries. Works similar to Moving Pictures but is for TV shows.

Thanks, i'm definitely going to give that mediaportal a spin :P

I think i'll wait until i have my tv tuner installed before i install the program though; that way my hardware's all up and running before it starts up.

I hear the TV support is a bit lacking though so you might want to hit up the forums to make sure your hardware is compatible.

Ooo! I love that skin, jdrom17! It's been a while since I used Mediaportal, but I'm almost tempted to start playing with it again!

I use Zoomplayer to play all my movies, Home Max edition is free. Does HD stuff better than anything else.
