Default pf usage under windows xp..

When I turn on my pc my PF usage looks like this. And it wasn't all the time like this..it should indicate something like 400-700 max..I did a online scan with F Secure and Mcaffe and I don't have any type of spyware/malware like I thought at first..
LE: is it better to disable it and run just on the ram?..

Use process explorer, it's from microsoft and gives you a much better idea of your resource usage.

Process Explorer

Great tool, shows hidden process's and breaks down all those annoying svchost ones too. Also shows your hardware interrupts. I had a system running slow, taskmanager showed nothing, ran PE and the hardware interrupts were high, turned out the HD was running in PIO mode. Fixed it and bam!
