Run Linux Inside Windows Lifehacker - Portable Ubuntu Runs Ubuntu Inside Windows - Portable Ubuntu A neat little application. Sure there might be other portable Linux out there, but a quick google check seems to indicate that you need to install it into the USB drive. This one requires just copying the extracted folder to the USB then running a .bat file. |
You can start Damn Small Linux from inside Windows as well. Or any distro using a virtual machine. |
Exactly ! I find using virtualbox from sunmicro works great . It allows you to run another operating system from within windows . I have another pc that runs Ubuntu 8.04 and numerous other distros of Linux on virtualbox from within Ubuntu . That way I don't have to use the live cd method and you get all the features . |
Well, you don't need virtualization to run it. You could run it off a USB... |
Wubi Neat. Like Wubi but more integrated with the OS. I still prefer a full linux install  |
Sounds great & I'll have to give it a try. I still though prefer installing a full OS under VirtualBox. |
