64 Bit Vista Ultimate and Office Ultimate 32 Bit
If you install Vista Ultimate 64 bit and then Office Ultimate 32 bit on it.
Any issues ie slowdown of main os?

I presume they run together, but does that slow down the 64 bit Vista OS as 32 bit office is running emulated (wow) or however

Thanks in Advance.
I maybe am thinking a bit to much or not enough coffee.

it shouldn't be a problem, office ultimate should run at fine in a 64bit os. Most software that are 32bit can run in 64bit OS(32-bit compatibility mode) , usually ones with problems are device drivers.

Dont quite understand how it would slow down the OS , if it does maybe you need more rams

Maybe someone with more knowledge can help you out.

99% of software you run is 32bit anyways.

I am running Vista Ultimate 64-bit and Office Ultimate (32-bit) on the IBM T61p that is in my sig. No problems and no perceivable performance hit.

Is there even a 64-bit office?!? From what I saw, only the office-related server apps got ported to 64 bit (if that even happened).
I'm using Vista Business 64-bit and Office Professional (the plain 32-bit version) right now. Performance is fine, but then again my rig is overpowered for word processing :P Running a 32-bit app in 64-bit OS usually means a little more memory usage, but if you're borderlining the memory requirements for MS Office you should be using a 32-bit OS anyway.

Thanks for all the replies.
Appreciate them.
There is no 64 bit office yet
It mentions on the office blurbs that for office Ultimate that some features won't work on the 64 bit OS but none that I knew what they did anyway.
I may just wait till Windows 7 gets out.
Reason I asked is I have Vista Ultimate with the 32 and 64 bit dvds
To bad you couldn't run your key supplied on each version 32 and 64.
Although I guess vista will run without a key for a few days
Have 4 gigs of ram.
