Steam hijack warning
In the last 10 min I have had 4 requests from valid Steam friends via steam friends chat with the following asking you to go to the link and log in
looks like this --> http//steam.ar.gd/,
DO NOT CLICK ON IT
Doing this will be giving your account info to the hijacker and they then send the same message yo your entire friends list.
Our BFC clans has already had 5 members hijacked in a 5 min time frame.
Distribute this warning widest ASAP. Not a joke.
I was lucky and was warned just before logging in.
Why would you even click a link like that is beyond me?
There are lots of folks out there hat trust a message from friends, kids, seniors and not so tech savvy individuals. Certainly those that are Tech Savvy like most of the members here would not, however the reality is, Viruses would not exist and we would not need anti virus programs if the majority of users in Windows world were not naive.
Lets just get the warning out to protect the majority of folks who may trust a message from a friend.
I believe you can get your Steam account back if its stolen by contacting Steam, and giving them the information you bought a game with (such as a credit card). Still worth noting though, I'll be sure to show this to a few of my less tech savvy Steam friends.
Thanks for the heads up, CasheKicker.
